All throughout “Something Greater Than Gold”, Harold and Eric’s attitude is completely different. I say that it is completely different because they run for different purposes and they have different attitudes toward the sport and to their lives. To explain further, this difference, is one of the main reasons why I see that they are rivals. One example that shows the difference is just their everyday attitude. To be more specific, Harold was a very cocky, self-centered, and stubborn runner. On the contrary, Eric was a very peaceful, caring, humble, and respectful runner. That is the first difference I see in their attitude. The second thing that I see different in their attitude is, yet again, what they run for. Eric runs for God; he uses his fame to spread the word of God further. On the other hand, Harold runs for himself. He doesn’t care about a fair race, he only cares about winning the race. So that is one of the main differences that I see in their attitude. This is the second difference that I personally see between the two
