I wish to be considered for an assignment as a Lieutenant within the Fusion Liaison & Intelligence Training Unit, Regional Operations & Intelligence Center (ROIC). Enlisted members of the Fusion Liaison & Intelligence Training Unit have the fundamental responsibility to facilitate information sharing between the ROIC, law enforcement and public entities, as well as, afford training opportunities for all members of the intelligence community. I believe my current role as the Division M.A.P.P.S Coordinator provides me with a solid foundation to transition into the position of Lieutenant in the posted vacancy. In July of 2005, I completed the State Police Instructor Training Course. This training significantly influenced my communications skills in a profound way. It provided new awareness about how I communicate both verbally and in written form. As the contract manager for the M.A.P.P.S system, I routinely communicate with the vendor to address issues and provide corrective actions. Additionally, I negotiate the annual waiver between ITB and the M.A.P.P.S. vendor to secure funding for the system. I have also presented risk data at the quarterly Risk Management Advisory Panel meetings which include command staff members and employees of the Attorney General 's Office. I regularly conduct the M.A.P.P.S Supervisor Course to newly promoted sergeants. The M.A.P.P.S Course is two days of instruction that I sometimes conduct alone. Obviously, this is a very demanding task, but I have met the challenge with enthusiasm. Consequently, I have further refined my communication skills through my experience as a M.A.P.P.S.
