Process Groups
There are five different types of process groups that are broken down in project management. Within each process group, value is added from the beginning to the end of the project. It is up to the project leader to make sure every project provides a substantial amount of information that would be instrumental in making the project successful. Groups for each project require initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, and closing. Many benefits come from the process groups throughout the project.
Initiating Process Group
“The initiating process group involves the processes, activities and skills needed to effectively define the beginning of a project” University Alliance (2015). The key stakeholders are identified; charters are developed, other inputs are also considered in the initiation process. Key stakeholders are often executive leaders in most organizations. Those same executives then appoint certain employees to represent each area of the project. The first phase of the project management initiation process is establishing an objective. This phase of the project is also when managers collaborate and collectively have strategies for information needed for the project. Large and small organizations have different objectives for a project. Bigger firms can have many small objectives and small firms can have one large objective.
