How “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Art” affects Corporate America
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) or Affordable Care Act (ACA) for short, is a new health care law within the United States, which is known by the layperson from its nickname; Obamacare. This health care law is very difficult to read, understand, and comprehend as almost everyone is confused after reading this unprecedented policy for the first time. During the research portion of this paper, this student became very confused as to the exact wording of the Affordable Care Act. Prior to starting this project, like most, this student’s understanding was limited.
While reading the various laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to this act, it continued to become more difficult to grasp the actual concepts of what Obamacare represents. Therefore, it would not be surprising that if individuals are confused about the PPACA so would corporate America as workers feel as though this type of healthcare system is unfair not only to the employees but also that of their companies. For instance, being a spouse of one such worker who is employed by corporate America, at times it feels as though this type of healthcare system is fair to only to those who are underpaid or the elderly as the middle class is observing massive changes with higher premiums.
