In the book The Old Man and The Sea the word and meaning of “Code Hero” is explained and shown many times, in those times Santiago as a main character became stronger physically and mentally as a person and fisherman. In this case the character Santiago surpasses many hardships while being courageous, brave and a friend. Hemingway describes the characters as “Code Heros” or man that are capable of living their lives with endurance and dignity even when they’re facing pain, to live their lives with passion and respect over everything, to be remembered as something or someone. Santiago has overcome the circumstances of living in a country that has been corrupted for years, as communist and very religious . I would imagine that Santiago went through very difficult times when growing up, just for the fact Cuba is where he is from and it has been corrupted for several years by Fidel Castro.“Code Hero” is just not a word it is a meaning, and is defined as a person who goes through the hells of life and still manages to keep up with his honor, courage and endurance, even though the whole world is on them with stress, chaos and pain.
