If maybe instead of treating him like this animal/monster, and gave him a chance to show him humanity, and the rights and wrongs. Show him his power and how to help people. Instead of the king being mad and turning this half human half animal into a monster, he could teach and help him thrive to know how humans feel or how to think or act out to others. I think if he would have took the time out to help the Minotaur grow more like a human instead of a monster, he would have been a better person/animal. Instead of stories of this crazy maze with a monster in there to kill you and eat you. He could be told of great deeds of helping people build great buildings, even make art. Some would probably consider him as a god from the way he looked being half bull. Instead of turning him into a monster, the king could have had more people come to their city, from all over just to see the Minotaur. some would have wanted to join there city and follow the Minotaur. To bring and show the great strength that the city would have, or have him be a protector of the people, something to help the people feel safe. There could be many ways the king could have taken this, instead of making him this awful monster, demanding sacrifices. He could have turned him into something the people would love and
