Rejection, depression, and art these are a few words that describe the life of Vincent van Gogh. Born March 30, 1853 Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch artist who most was known for his painting Starry Night, The Bedroom, Irises, Wheatfield with Crows and multiple paintings of sunflowers. Vincent van Gogh was born to a pastor name Theodorus van Gogh and an artist named Anna Cornelia Carbentus in Groot-Zundert, Holland. According to (Vincent van Gogh Biography. This all started when Vincent van Gogh got into a fight with Paul Gauguin and then threaten him with a razor. After leaving Paul, Vincent cut of the bottom half of his ear. He then offered his ear to a girl named Rachel and told her to “Guard this object carefully”. The police arrived in his house and took Vincent van Gogh to the hospital. Vincent’s younger brother Theo visited Vincent in the hospital and by the end of 1888 Vincent van Gogh was admitted to an asylum by the people of Arles who according to (A. (n.d.). Some of these paintings include “Starry Night” and “Irises”. While in the asylum van Gogh became depressed and began making one painting a day. In July 27, 1890 Vincent van Gogh went to a field and painted another well-known painting called “Wheatfield with crows”. After he finished this painting he took a loaded gun and shot himself in the chest.
