So do media really influence people that much? In the year 1960 in the United States of America for the first time in their history, presidential debate where eared on Television. The debate was between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon. It is well described in the article titled “The Kennedy-Nixon Debates”, on the website “History.com”. People were tracking the debate live on two different medias- radio and television. Those who watched presidential discussion were sure that John F. Kennedy won. Kennedy was taller, more energetic, tan, generally looked healthy. Richard Nixon on the other hand as an article says “recently suffered a bout of the flu and was still running a low fever; he had nonetheless spent a grueling day on the campaign trail and looked drained”, also when getting out of car he hit his knee and an old injury got much worse. So there was a visible contrast between two candidates. It is the book written by Samuel P. Huntington titled” Clash of the Civilization”. The book among other things says about, a moment when Islam will start to entrance the Europe. It is a very interesting to read it in the book written twenty years ago. And how adequate it is to what is happening now in Europe, more exactly the refugee crisis, but maybe about the part that is not talked that much in Medias such as television, newspapers. Samuel P. Huntington writes “The clash of civilizations will dominate global politics. The fault lines between civilizations will be the battle lines of the future. Conflict between civilizations will be the latest phase in the evolution of conflict in the modern world.” The author at some point predicts that Arabic people will stop coming to Europe around the year of 2025! In the book we come across reflections about clashes of the civilizations. It says that what is breaking down civilizations is religion. And that is the fact that their culture and religion is extremely different to European one. Samuel P. Huntington claims that assimilation between Islamic and European nation is possible but he doesn’t believe that they will come to understand each other.
