The researchers hypothesized that chemoreception is a salient aspect for the Iguanas in their daily lives to detect chemical cues from potential predators that are either hidden or out of site. One weakness in particular was that this article presented a small sample size for the iguanas. The researches began with 33 dessert iguanas, but only ended up using 16 for the experiment, 9 males and 7 females. They eliminated a significant number of iguanas from the study by running prior tests and examinations. Also, the researches did not address data regarding sex based behavioral responses, I would personally find it fascinating to know whether the different sexes had relatively different behavioral frequencies when exposed to the different
