Hillsborough Essay
Please explain why you want to teach and/or work in Hillsborough County Public Schools. Limit response to 200-400 words.
I am looking forward to relocating to Hillsborough County for many reasons. My move to Tampa is driven by many factors. I have discovered that living near to family has become very important to me. My extended family lives in the area and my daughter will be attending the University of South Florida after she graduates. The healthy outdoor lifestyle that Tampa embraces, is very appealing.
I have specifically sought out Hillsborough County Public Schools because it is a large and vibrant district. The multicultural aspects of the county appeal to me. Diversity in the classroom allows the teacher to incorporate lessons that extend beyond the classroom walls. I believe that different cultures blending together give every student …show more content…
I am willing to make changes because I want my students to have the best chance at success when they leave my classroom.
I have introduced an online reading intervention program to my school. In the beginning the tool was only used in the special education realm. The success of the program was so overwhelming, that we started using it with all of our at-risk students K-8. Typing, word prediction, and voice-to-text technology has changed the way that I teach writing.
In further response to the feedback, I am incorporating these new skills behind the scenes as well. I am the special education team lead for my school. In this role, I am responsible for IEP’s and team meetings. I have sought out training to become a new-teacher coach for the Enrich IEP system. The use of Google Drive, Calendar, and Community has allowed my team to stay in-touch at all times and better meet the needs of our students and their
