The schools were rebuilt, our economic situation improved, people started to have jobs and sources of income. We had our science and sports subject back in School. Things got changed rapidly and in a positive way. There was progress to rebuild the infrastructure, education system, economy and to provide safety and security but that progress was very slow and would take years to make Afghanistan a better place for living.
After I finished high school, I started working with a non-profit organization. I started working with the US Embassy in Afghanistan in 2012 and as a result I moved to the United States in June 2014. I moved to a very different place in terms of language, culture, and living environment. Everything is so different here compared to Afghanistan. Learning opportunities, schools, safety and security, gender equality, sports facilities and so much more are obviously better here.
Kids in the United States have a lot of opportunities to study, play, and live peacefully. Most of them have what they need in life. This was not the case for me, and it’s still not the case for many other kids in Afghanistan. Now that I am here and I see the life that kids have here, I always wish I could go back to the time but live here in the United States. I know that this is not possible anymore, I can’t go back to my childhood, but I have two kids that I can provide them the life every kid should have and I
