It is better to be a part of a civilization than to be left alone facing uncertainty. The idea, on a basic level, is based upon a type of group mentality. It is better to have the support of the community when facing a tragedy as the one they are facing in The Lord of the Files. If a person is alone and have to rely upon her own skill set to find resources, shelter, and food, she may be disadvantaged in one or more areas. The diversity of the community could serve as a safeguard to protect individuals who don’t have an all encompassing toolkit to provide all the necessities required for sustained life. When an ignorant person is faced with a new obstacle, it is more beneficial to have a set leader to follow than making rash decisions by himself. It is a protectant from many things, such as the human mind and fear of the unknown. Man needs civilization until he needs some necessity like food, water, and shelter. Civilization in reality is just a cover up for the evil actions man feels the need to complete. It helps maintain order within any particular area.
