Keenan, who is a former Baptist, was asked what was the difference between the two that he has seen. “We don't shout. It's calmer and consists Bible reading consist scripture reading. That's the only difference, it's not loud. It's quiet and peaceful. We do sing but, it's not very loud singing.” It seems like the only real difference between the two faiths is how they express it. I then asked him how did he feel like he differs from when he was a Baptist until now. "I actually read the bible now. I can find a scripture like that now.". Keenan seems to be more connected to this religion than the Baptist religion he once was before. This does not mean that his new faith is better. It just shows that he found another option for him. When I asked him what he what type of experience that anyone can get when they first enter the Kingdom Hall his response did not show any ill will towards anyone or any other religions. “Well, they will have peace of mind at the Kingdom Hall. It’s very encouraging and there’s always a scripture that can help you out. No matter what you’re going through.” He legitimately just wants the best for everyone. This is why Witnesses go knocking on peoples doors. This is the quote he was given in responses to the question, ‘Was your family supportive of your decision of being a Jehovah Witness?’. He then mentions how they have gotten better over the years with his choice in life. When I asked him did he have any family members that go with him to the Kingdom Hall or has anyone gone before with him, he responded that "Yes, I have my sister has gone with me.". This shows natural human behavior. People do not like things that are different or new to them but, once they get to know the change and have it around they accept it. Keenan’s family had to get used to the idea of him becoming a Jehovah Witness. They had a limited amount of chances before he became one to actually know about the religion. Understanding and change do not happen overnight. It takes time for it to happen and fourtantly that happened to
