The immigration policy of Hillary Clinton, a current presidential candidate has an achievable and beneficial immigration plan for the U.S. It will move our nation forward and repair a broken immigration system. Clinton has three steps to her immigration plan. She wants to enact comprehensive immigration reform to create a pathway to citizenship. She wants to keep families together, and enable millions of workers to come out of their shadows. Her plan and policies can help change, and make a positive impact on our country and immigration system. Clinton believes that every illegal immigrant should have the opportunity to come out of the shadows about their status. They should not be criticized about coming to America to try to start a better life for their kids, and do what they can to let them have a better education. “When Luke asked directly about their status, the two girls lied and said they had green cards.” (Helen Thorpe 119). Marisela and Yadira were afraid to tell one of their good friends that they were illegal because of his critical opinion of undocumented immigrants. Clinton wants immigrants to be treated as equals, and have people stop dehumanizing people who live in our country. I believe that this is a simple step to help the immigration system. It 's only words and actions, nothing like having to build a huge wall to keep illegal immigrants out. It would help stop discrimination and make it easier to find a way for people to get documents.
