The help by Kathryn Stockett has showed the meaning of the line through the story which separated between blacks and whites. The ones that benefited the most in society where whites,but African American folks had to fight the way through. Not only was it segregated,but when he came to having the most power, the African-American maids like Aibileen were the weakest. Throughout the story you’ll see that the line starts to disappear. That no one is better than the other. The line was what separated whites and blacks from equality of society.

Throughout the story you have the African-American maids and you have a woman name skeeter who tried to write a book help communities rethink segregation. And you have others like Hilly is basically a racist. Hilly one in a law to comment to place where each house had a separated bathroom for the colored maids. “A bill that requires every White known to have it separated bathroom for the colored help. I’ve even notified the surgeon general of Mississippi to see if he’ll endorse the idea. I’ll pass. Hilly was one of the characters in the story or she wanted that line. She wanted society to be segregated and to the colored people to suffer. She even made it seem like black people diseases can harm white people and that they are pass only through toilet seats .
