The evolution of Scuba Diving has come a long way since it was invented by these people, in 1864, Rouquayrol and Denayrouze, in 1926 Yvesle le Prieur also known as Aqua-lung, and in 1942 and 1943, Jacques Yves Cousteau and Emile Gagnan. They all had a vital role in the beginning of scuba diving. The technology of scuba diving has changed in several ways since it began in the 19th century. It was a big part in exploring underwater creations and will still be a big part in it today.

When scuba diving was first invented, the equipment they used was poor and very heavy on the human body. They used a very big cooper helmet attached to a hose that oxygen ran through so the person using it could get air through the helmet. Web. 21 Oct. 2015.). This made it where divers could stay underwater of short periods of time. Mainly 7-10 minutes is about how long they could stay underwater. In desperate need of more use of time underwater, an English merchant seamen, Henry Fleuss, invented the first fully independent diving rig that used compressed oxygen in 1876( The Evolution Of Modern SCUBA Gear Through The Ages). Divers could stay underwater for longer periods of time and they could now go to deeper depths.…
