Changing a company’s culture is not an easy task. It takes dedication and perseverance. Marchionne accepted this challenge despite it is considered to be one of the most difficult challenges for leadership (Denning, 2011). While evolving Chrysler’s culture changes did not happen overnight, but it ultimately did come together for Marchionne and Chrysler.
Marchionne conquered changing Chrysler’s culture in various ways. One notable way was via the mechanism of the design of physical space, work environments, and buildings. By Marchionne moving his office from the executive office on the top floor to the fourth floor of the technology center among the engineers, he intiated a culture change.     In reading chapters three and four this week, I would recommend Marchionne embed the organizational culture through mentoring and modeling a leadership program in Chrysler to develop strong leaders to take charge while he is in Canada (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013, p. 81).
