Philip Arnold tells the story of the Waco, Texas incident through his eyes. Arnold begins the article by discussing the role of religious faith in this situation. The government’s inability to relate and understand Koresh’s strong religious beliefs serves as the foundation for the tragedy that occurred in Waco, Texas. The rebellious main character Katniss Everdeen volunteers as tribute in place of her younger sister Prim at the reaping in the 74th annual Hunger Games alongside her fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Katniss Everdeen is one of the most skillful tributes in the games in that she is very skilled with a bow and arrow. During the Hunger Games, the game makers change the rules to where there can be two victors, only if both are from the same district. This change compels Katniss and Peeta to work harder to win the games together. In the end they were successful in being the last two tributes remaining; however, the game makers once again change the rule back to only winner. Katniss then defies the Capitol by splitting poisonous berries with Peeta. Without hesitation, the game makers announce the two winners of the 74th annual Hunger Games. In this film, Ofelia and her pregnant mother move in with Spain’s military captain during the Spanish Civil War. Ofelia fears the fate of her mother’s life and also the life she has been forced into by the Captain. One day Ofelia finds an old labyrinth near her new home. As she explores the passageways, she meets a faun who tells her that she is a princess. The faun tells Ofelia that she has to complete three tasks in order to fulfill her position of Princess Moana and reunite with her father, the King. The final task was for Ofelia to sacrifice the life of her innocent brother. Ofelia defied the fauns request and in turn died; however, the real task was to sacrifice her own life, which she successfully completed, thus she was reunited with her father. Ofelia uses this utopian fairy tale as an escape from her real life. The characteristics of this film indicate that a utopia should include the right to make choices and the right to question those in
