It was a moonless cold night, followed by two strangers at two o’clock in the morning. The darkness of the night symbolized David’s hurt and how he felt inside. As the paper mentioned he felt like a man without a future, a man for whom the weather held no dominion. David the main character felt so worthless and depressed because he didn’t succeed in his six-year relationship with the first woman he had ever loved. I could relate to his feeling because I remember the time me and my fiancé broke off our relationship, I felt like my life was over and worthless. Then my mother told me something I would never forget “God created you without him, then you can die without him, and life does go on”. But it was so hard to realize her word’s at the moment. David has just moved to a new town, this portrays that he was escaping from reality or wanted to forget his past and create a new beginning.
However, David left work and stepped out for a cigarette in the middle of the night and saw a strange man dressed in all black. Any individual in David’s shoes would quickly judge him. David didn’t know how to react, he simply said “hey what’s up”, but in his mind he obviously thought he was going to get mugged. What I mostly liked about David’s character was that he also gave the stranger an excuse. In today’s society people do not even consider good intentions. At first David assumes that the “Black Blizzard” was going to mug him, but he then he said “Maybe he’s just sitting there,…
