The Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange (CSRDE) is a program of OU outreach, which begins 21 years ago at the University of Oklahoma. This is a two-year and four-year institutions dedicated to achieving the highest levels of student success through collaboratively sharing data, knowledge, and innovation (CSRDE, 2015). CSRDE was found in 1994 and is known for its annual retention studies which provide executives at two-year institutions with access to timely, comprehensive, comparative benchmarking data on retention and graduation, not available from any other source (CSRED, 2015) Building bridges and promoting an intuitional culture that encourages student success is important for student retention and CSRDE offers an opportunity for dialogue and networking with colleagues who are working on the same issues related to student retention. CRSDE has another initiative known as Postsecondary Data collaborative, better known as PostsecData, created by the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) advocates for high-quality postsecondary data. The PostsecData Collaborative is leading an effort to tackle challenges through a three-pronged approach: critical conversations, knowledge center, and coalition-building. This initiative is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (CSRDE, 2015).
