Immediately from birth we make decisions based on it if the child will be a boy or girl from the colors used when decorating their bedroom to the clothes you dress them in. Once a person is old enough to formulate their own ideas it is instantly embedded in their head that there is a major difference between men and women. Boys are told at a young age that “big boys don 't cry”, making them think that if they show emotion they are weak. When kids are told that they do something “like a girl”, it automatically creates a separation between male and female in their head, formulating this idea that women and men can not be equal. That men are stronger than women and should be doing certain things better and if they are not, then they are considered not to be “real men”. Children are also taught to base their goals and dreams off of their gender. For example, many males see jobs like nursing or house cleaning to be jobs for only women and some females think that being a firefighter or a cop is something only men can do. If we stop teaching children from a young age to think about people a certain way based on their gender, this could lead to change in an entire society. To dissociate limitations with gender would mean to treat everybody with the same respect. People would learn that it is appropriate to hit, not only girls, but everyone. That we should hold the door open for someone no matter who they are, and if we see someone in need, we help
