Global conflicts keep on growing, pecially in regions like the Middle East. The presence of corrupt governments such as the one in Syria, led by human rights-violator Bashar Al-Assad causes major global issues. Also, governments like Gaddafi’s in Libya and Morsi’s in Egypt have created a lot of instability and uncertainty in the region affecting human populations, the economy and the development of the area. Also, the involvement of terrorist and political groups like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL), Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda, Hamas and many more have caused a very negative influence on governments and rebel groups in the area. This influence has fostered violent conflicts that have extended to an international level. This essay will mainly cover the conflict in Syria and surrounding territory, as well as the argument that the United States must intervene in this country to end the civil war and to decimate the terrorist and paramilitary influence that threatens the area.
The conflict in Syria, which initiated in 2011, is very complex and has taken different shapes throughout its duration. There a civil war between pro-Assad government fighters and anti-Assad rebels. However, these groups are backed by different organizations and governments. These two coalitions share their own goals and objectives but their methods and rationale vary.
