Cancer is described as uncontrolled growth of the abnormal body cells. Cancer associated with altered expression of cellular genes which its normal function is to regulate proliferation and differentiation of cell. Cancer is the second major cause of death for both men and women in the United States (Copstead & Banasik, 2013). According to National Cancer Institute (2014), there are over one hundred types of cancer existing. Types of cancers are named for the organ or type of cell in which its growth started. In order diagnose cancer, many tests will be done to find out the location, and if it has spread to the surrounding cells and organs. The type of symptoms experience depend on what treatment the patient is receiving and changes with the process of treatment (Pedersen, Koktved & Nielsen, 2013). The common side effects of treatment of cancer, include cancer-related fatigue and the destruction of healthy tissues and cells of the body by radiation (Pedersen, Koktved & Nielsen, 2013). Patients may experience extreme pain which is as a result of certain treatment, nausea and vomiting, anemia, lymphedema, and infection (American Cancer Society, 2014). Chemotherapy damages blood forming cells in the bone marrow, hair follicles, causes mouth sores, nausea and vomiting. It can affect the reproductive system leading to fertility and changes of menstrual cycle pattern in women. It can cause impotence, and urinary incontinence in men. Some chemo medication can damage the heart, kidney, bladder, lungs, and nervous system (American Cancer Society, 2014). Chemotherapy and radiation may increase the risk of developing another type of cancer later in life. Additionally, it can lead to emotional disturbances and psychological problems such as anxiety, increased stress, feeling of pain and loneliness (American Cancer Society,
