The main character, Lindsay Weir, mainly focuses on herself, instead of other people’s needs. Lindsay joins the freaks and goes through senseless experiences with them. She leaves behind her “goody two shoes” group to experience new friends and try the “dark” side. Lindsay feels alienation from her family, friends, and school. She is trying to find out who she wants to be, by trying new experiences on her own. Her group of freaks, feel the same way, and that is why they are seen as outsiders or bad influences. Lindsay has free will to try and find who she wants to be, even if it causes her to be in trouble. This causes Lindsay to be punished throughout the show, but she wants to find her true and happiest
