Groundhog Day Symbolism

The movie Groundhog Day is a powerful symbolization and morality tale. Phil is so focus on his self-concept and resources that he misses the present moment and opportunities to build some positive relationships. Phil is so focused in a futile struggle to control and change a life situation that is essentially unchangeable. The only solution is to learn in this movie, is that we should learn how to accept our circumstances, and adopt a new attitude of gratitude, in putting our best efforts in improving the areas of life that we could control. He also tends to lack in the field of communication with his fellow news reporter team, like his camera man Larry and his co-reporter Rita in the beginning but then he becomes to be more friendly and compassion with knowing about their lives. …show more content…
Now his goals are redefined and the trajectory of the story is more clear and more specific. He will continue to use the same techniques to win Rita , until he is forced into another paradigm shift and sees the fact of being trapped in Groundhog Day in a different light. He stops seeing the condition as a curse and becomes devoted to others and not himself. Such as helping a homeless man, a guy who was shocking and elderly women whose car got a flat tire.
