“As a proud American, a father who lost his own dad in a senseless act of violence, and a black man, … I grieve with the families who have lost loved ones, as I know their pain all too well.” Michael Jordan, a hall of fame basketball player and successful business man, speaks on black lives and law enforcement. As quoted above he compares his own life experiences and the shooting of his father to inform the families struggling with these tragedies that he has been through it as well. Trying to give comfort and support to these families. Jordan speaks out in support of the “Black Lives Matter Movement” and support of the law enforcement. Wanting to find a peace between the two by bringing them closer together. He has made contributions of $2 million giving $1 million to each of the two organizations, the International Association of Chiefs of Police and The NAACP legal defense fund. Knowing the contributions are not enough, he hopes it will be a step in a positive direction. Also wanting to give awareness and educate other people so they themselves can make a stand. Black Lives Matter Movement started as a hashtag, to now becoming a cry for help and it wakes the death of several black men losing their lives at the hands of the police. Newest shooting between Alton Sterling and the police caused a major uproar for this movement moving it worldwide.
