Privacy
The privacy of American citizens are being violated because without privacy,
there is no point in being an individual. There are so much privacy being broken into in
the United States it's outrageous . In the article ‘’That’s No Phone That’s My Tracker’’ it
uncovers that millions of cellphones users have been under government surveillance
due to there. There are several cellular trackers constantly being checking off their
record the location, of all phones on their networks, all the data that is being used
,What web pages are being visited and much more. But most people don't know that
their privacy is being violated. People should not be willing to give up personal
information for the greater good of society because, not everyone like someone snooping around them. In the novel 1984 , Big Brother is watching your every move the people didn't have a say so in their privacy frankly there is absolutely no freedom in that orwellian society . . ‘’On coins, stamps, on the cigarette packet, everywhere always the eyes are watching you’’ (according to Howell pg 27). This quote simply means that there is no escaping the big brother (the government) . For example, cell phones .. there constantly being monitored and most of society is aware just like in the novel. But wait what is privacy ? Is privacy being closed in a room alone , is it being able to freely decide your own “fate”. Allowing big brother to invade your privacy makes you a slave to big brother . ‘’.......Freedom is slavery .......’’ (1984). With that being said I don't feel like being on camera 24/7 helps me on being safe in the United States alone there are 40 million surveillance cameras nationwide , shooting 4 billion hours of footage a week. Hows that protecting privacy if everywhere we go you're being watched. According to a Police statement ‘’It will helps us to respond to crimes better and prevent others crimes’’. Do you feel safe in a society such as that one? Well you live in one . For example, Are you comfortable sharing your diary with a stranger you never met. Thinking about living in a society that is similar to Oceania. Being watched is
similar to a master watching like in slavery . For example, you can't love someone in
public, you have to follow big brother tradition, your kids are spies. ‘War is Peace,
Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength’’ (PBS.org ). Having to live in control of Big
Brother is like giving up your soul . I wouldn't be able to live in a era such as 1984 ,being
