The team that I am in for BUAD 304, is Team SuperBuad with Nicole Scruggs, Deepthi Sampathkumar, James Karis, Rod Henley, Henry Chuang, Gabbi Green, Sama Manchanda. Though I have participated in many group projects throughout my educational and professional life, learning skills are crucial to making a team work. Sometimes it is easy to adapt to the group and feel like you have a great team, while other times it is a little hard to build a connection. Looking back on group projects, I believe that the ones that succeeded were do to the foundation the group had. The ones that didn’t do so well were not only due to personality difference, but no foundation with the group. This is pretty much a Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, but in a team format. I have never heard of this application prior to watching this lecture. However, I think this is something that is important to address. My team is made up with many personalities. Going back to our Myers Briggs results, we seem to be a very diverse group int the sense that it feel like we view situations a bit differently. I know I am a more intrinsic person and others are extrinsic. I think that we have not really set a foundation on whom we all are. Sure, we had that one hour group gathering, but I feel like that didn’t really allow us to really know each other on a student to student level. For me personally I feel like it is a bit hard to be in this group since I don’t really have that foundation of trust with them yet. I commute and I am much older than them, but aside from that I feel like we haven’t had enough group gatherings. This falls under absence of trust. I believe I am not the only one who feels this way, in which it is important that team SuperBuad develops …show more content…
Plus, I think since we do not have that foundation of trust, we don’t feel comfortable with one another to hold someone accountable. I am hoping to be able to build that trust. I think one thing is to be able to tell someone if they are going off track, in the sense of goofing off to much, or being a bit bossy. Inattention to results with the tasks that we have done as a group we have be pretty focused on what results we want. I think sometime we are a bit to focused and don't see the broader picture. For example on the survival ELC lab, we were all jumping leaving the site than actually seeing the pros and cons of staying vs leaving. I think that is one thing we need to work on is what do we want to achieve and how we are going to achieve

I never liked working with people, as I am not a very socialize person and struggle to interact with new people or people whom I don’t really know well. I found myself more comfortable facilitating the discussion. The next section is how well I focused on feelings, thoughts, and concerns in the here-and-now. I found myself worrying too much about how long I should let group members focused on vertical discussion versus horizontal. I have noticed that feelings are difficult to get out of some group members, when asked “how do does that make you feel,” a few members responded with non-feelings descriptions. I have to work on being able to get actual…

I want to focus and work on the three weaknesses that I addressed previously (uncreative, lack of delegation, and care causes loss of rationale) because those are the most evident places for personal improvement from both and introspective verdicts and from being mentioned by my peers. The other capability that I want to address is my avoidance of conflict and confrontation. I will eventually address a problem when it arises, but I will not initiate confrontation until it is absolutely necessary. I think this relates back to being interpersonal. I am not only a people person; I am a people pleaser.…

My initial thought before forming a group was I will try to do to most of the work myself; mainly because of the lack of trust I had in-group members. I believed that the other members will not perform at the level they should be at to get the best grade possible. However, now it seems unfair to have come up with shortsighted conclusions, and will attempt to keep more of an open mind while dealing with any group I am apart…
