I choose a small group of seven people. The small group is making an effort to provide clothing and food for the homeless and families within our community. Our group has one leader who has been appointed by all of the group members. On the other hand, if the leader is absent there will be a group member who will take over when the leader is absent. However, everyone in the group will participate on the decision making and ask questions and participate in the discussions. The group will meet every week to discuss or donors and the contributions being made by the board members. However, the leader of the group will meet with the board members twice a month.
Our group has a code of conduct and it is the following. 1. Everyone should be on time to the meeting. If an individual is cannot make it to the meeting or they will be late, the individual is expected to call the group leader and let him know the person will be late. 2. If an individual is late for the meeting they will be given an update at the end of the meeting. 4. In every meeting their will be a member who will take notes and we will have every member participate on different days of taking the meeting notes. 5. Each member will respect one another and value their opinion. 6. Resolution of differences would be a majority decision. Although, on key issues the group will reach consensus (University of Minnesota, 2015). In addition, the agenda’s will be handed out during the meetings. 9. Again, everyone in the group is expected to listen to another individual in the group when they are talking with respect by using “active listening, nit using “bad phrases” or even displaying negative body language and brain storming without editing (University of Minnesota, 2015). 10. The information that everyone in the meeting shares are public information and we will discuss the notes of the meeting with the board members. Although, if someone in the group or the group as a whole feels the information should be confidential then we will respect their request. 11. Everyone in the group should be open to an individual’s idea within the group and their way of thinking. 12. Their will be no whispering in the group if you feel you have to whisper you will be expected to share your conversation with …show more content…
Everyone within the group has experienced some type of need for clothes and food at one point within their lives. Not to mention, everyone accepts one another and they “recognize that everyone in the group has a “variety of opinions and experiences which makes our group stronger. The group members want to share their ideas. Regardless, everyone is working to achieve their goal by providing the homeless and families with food and clothing.
