There have been surveys done on teachers‟ perceptions and attitudes and also on classroom observations looking into the instructional strategies used in incorporating multiculturalism in the schoolroom. This is examined as necessary as teachers‟ understanding and attitudes about culturally diverse students in the schoolrooms. Teachers are the central elements in motivating, educating, and progressing to a deviation in the teaching of students, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, age, faith, speech, or exceptionality. The legal age of teachers usually, consciously or unconsciously, exhibit biases towards students in some way, says Gollnick & Chinn (1991). There is then this possibility of a mismatch between teachers‟ teaching styles and the learning styles of culturally diverse students. …show more content…
Referable to the lack of understanding of an ethnic, racial, societal, and linguistic diversity of students, instructors can engage themselves consciously or unconsciously in practices that may not be suitable in the schoolroom. Referable to the failure in the theatrical role of teachers to understand, live with, and appreciate who these scholars are, students may feel that the learning environment is alien and unfriendly toward them. This situation causes stress, anxiety, and a notion of a lack of sustenance for pupils, which can affect students‟ daily academic performance.
