Self-Perceptions Of Today's Diverse Classrooms

Jessica L. Whitley from the university of Lakehead, Nancy Lee. Heath from McGill University and Cindy A. Finn from the Lester B. Pearson School Board study the self-perceptions of children with ADHD as compared to the perceptions their teachers have towards them. This paper will discuss how this research can be representative of today’s diverse classrooms and how we as educators can accommodate students suffering from ADHD in more effective ways.

The study, “The Role of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders in the Self-Perceptions of Children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties,” compares the differences between how teachers perceive two groups of children with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties and the way children perceive
