The case study I found the most interesting was “Learning and Developmental Theory: a case study about a 31-year-old African American man named Taron. According to the case study “Taron grew up in a very conservative, professional, and disciplined household for things such as behavior and relationships. However; things that were constructive and positive, the entire family was very supportive and liberal”. Taron was the youngest sibling and the way he grew up, he never really spoke much in his family. He was very obedient to his parents and had his older siblings to look up to. Role Confusion, Taron’s lack of emotional connection with someone in his adolescent years has caused his development to sway the focus more on his future in terms of career, personal/physical self, and the like instead of on emotional development. He says that he was shy, introverted, and overly self-aware adolescent which lead to social anxiety”. For instance, I had a friend who I grew up with and went to college together. We both took speech class together and he was very shy, quiet and was afraid of talking in front of people. He came out to be a good speaker from practicing a lot. I will work freshman up to seniors in college as an administrator or academic advisor and I will enjoy working with college students because that is my passion to help students in any way to achieve their goals, by mentoring them and helping them find the career path for them. I believe Social Learning Theory and Psychosocial Development would be my point of focus and some Cognitive and Language Development also will play a part. Last but not least, Behavioral Development also will play a part in my role in helping
