Patrick Ehren attended Ripon College for all 4 years from 1982 to 1986, while he was also playing on the college football team. While Susan Lapp attended Ripon for a year and a half from 1985 to December of 1986, then Purdue for half a year from January of 1987 to May of 1987, and Marquette for 3 years from 1987 to 1990, and she played soccer at Ripon and Marquette and basketball only at Ripon. Senior year in College, Patrick and his friends created an intramural basketball team to compete and play against other intramural teams at Ripon College. On day in the month of February, him and his friends were playing and then they saw a girl playing basketball on another court. The marriage was on June 29th, 1991. both of them had either a Bachelor or Bachelorette party, Patrick’s party was going around downtown going from bar to bar, and Susan’s was they went on a Cruise on Lake Michigan. Patrick’s best man was a friend he was very close with throughout highschool and college named Rob Needham. Susan’s made of honor was her sister Terry Figura because they have been through alot together and many other reasons. Their wedding was at a Lutheran Church and not a Catholic Church because Susan was Lutheran, but Patrick was Catholic, so there was a Catholic Priest. They said, the day of the marriage went perfect, everything they wanted to happen, happened. Susan’s last or maiden name was originally Lapp, but she took Patrick’s last named and her name became Susan …show more content…
Both of them said that after they got married they didn’t really feel a difference from when they were dating and after they got married. At the time of marriage or a little after, both of them wanted two kids, both of them being boys, they only wanted to because they thought that 3 would be too much and 1 is too little, but they were worried about the money of each kid so they only wanted two. Now in their marriage they both would have wanted more, maybe like 3, because now they realized they could afford them. It has been 6 years after they got married, and they finally had the first kid on May 30th, 1997, and they named him Justin. Then 2 and a half years later they had another kid on September 30th, 1999 and they named him Austin. Raising children can strongly affect one’s marriage, they said that having kids gives us a lot less alone time to as just a couple, and adds a lot more stress to the marriage and both of them, but they seemed to figure it out and become a very happy couple. They said the biggest struggle of raising a kid or kids was making sure they understood the meaning between right and wrong, and to make sure they point them in the right direction and to make sure how important education is to them.
