I am a resident at TWU. I was delivering donations to the TWU Food Pantry in Old Main and it was pouring rain. I thought that the gray/black paint on the curb means all parking permits are allowed. Unfortunately, I now know that there is a grey curb color that means it is faculty parking that is different from the black

To begin, in my community I have come to respect those who help others in food pantries and in special needs schools through personal experience. One day my mom and I took a new route to my grandparents house and we came across the RCS Food Pantry. The next day we pulled up and talked to this sweet lady and she said that we could help package food for the homeless, so every Monday we would go and help out, it was a touching experience to see the look the homeless gave us when we gave them the food. One man I talked to was in the military and wasn't able to get a job because of his PTSD, it was sad the way he ended up but I vowed to help in the ways I knew how.…

We began as I believe all days should begin; in the presence of the Lord. After a talk and prayer, we headed off; some of us on busses and some in cars. I had picked to go to the Food Pantry the Tuesday before, although I did not foresee any of the events that would happen there at that time. I had thought it’d be some gigantic warehouse with food stacked on shelves and we would have to move it out of there to an even more gigantic warehouse. This was not the case.…

First, this act is inherently illegal; one cannot park in a reserved disabled parking spot without an official permit. My Aunt does not possess a disabled or handicap parking permit of any kind, so she had no legal right to park there. Through my past driving courses, I have learned that this unlawful act can lead to fines, citations, and penalties if caught by a police officer. Because my Aunt violated a fixed, state law, I think that her act was not only unlawful, but also morally wrong since it signified her lack of adherence and respect to official regulations. Laws are made to represent the values and standards of a state, and they must be followed–not broken.…
