ELMIRA (WENY) - A project that's been in the works for more than six years is finally coming to fruition. Friday, Meals on Wheels of Chemung County will officially open their new facility in Elmira.
After being in the same build for nearly 20 years, Meals on Wheels of Chemung county is moving a couple blocks down and upgrading to a new facility. Friday, Darlene Ike, the Executive Director of Meals of Wheels in Chemung County will welcome their volunteers to the newly renovated building at 409 William Street in Elmira. "Eventually we would like to make this a complete community center where seniors could come in with maybe their grandkids, have lunch, there should be exercise rooms things like that," explains Ike.
