As it stated previously, Alzheimer 's diseases is a type of dementia. Alzheimer 's disease is the most common type of dementia. It affects memory, abilities to reason, talk and move. Vascular dementia causes multi-infarct. This type of dementia is often the result of a stroke. When this occurs, small areas of the brain are irreversibly damaged. The onset of vascular dementia is sudden. Symptoms depend on which area of the brain is affected, but it can affect memory, and other cognitive functions such as the ability to make decisions must be affected. Dementia with Lewy bodies causes hallucinations, delusions, problems with movement, and decreased the cognitive abilities.
