Imagine a nation, in which the American Dream is less of a dream, but a legend. Excess riches flood the nation, but only get distributed to the wealthy, and is taken away from the poor. Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, in The Great Gatsby, uses this theme, to convey to the United States, that the nation is headed in a new, and disastrous direction that will soon destroy the American Dream. This is symbolized by the romantic novel that has turned sour by the conclusion. Many themes and symbols are portrayed in this novel, some of which are: the different personalities represented by each character's vehicle, the destruction of societal structure, and the act of revenge.
Each vehicle is a manifestation of each person's personality. Take Gatsby
