For instance, on day 2, his entry followed the scripture “Be fruitful and multiply...”(Jacobs,17) and in this entry Jacobs recorded how he and his wife were trying to have another child ,but were encountering issues.These scriptures were extremely supportive to each entry. They gave some knowledge to non-bible followers (followers of different religions and secular people ) and they were a reference incase you no longer recall what the point of that entry is -since he does tend to be repetitive and digress from the topic at times. He also uses satire quite often to highlight the extremes and the odd rules of religion,which I agree with,religion can be questionable.
Another aspect of the book I admired was how the theory of cognitive dissonance ,a very interesting concept actually played out with time.
