This literature review was commenced to investigate the question: What is the effect of incorporating culturally-relevant stories into elementary students’ reading achievement? The United States is a diverse country, which consists of people from different ethnic backgrounds who have migrated to the U.S for different reasons, including for increased wealth and a better life for themselves and their families.
