One thing as a teacher you have to be culturally competent, you have to know about your student and their background. By knowing your student, their family, their culture, you will know more about why the student is the way he or she is and why they do things the way they do. Teachers can always do research to get to know their students, to get to know the family. One great way to get the whole class involved is so have a class presentation, where the students talk about their cultures. You have to be open minded and willing to learn to be able to connect with the multicultural community. Once again having that knowledge will help you understanding why people do what they do.
