It is hard to believe but, ocean acidification is caused by us. We cause it by what we normally do, breathe. We inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide, we can’t stop ourselves from breathing. But, we can do many other things to stop ocean acidification. Other examples are, fossil fuels and factories. Ocean acidification is a big problem not only in America, but all around the world too. We know the cause of this great environmental problem, now, we just have to fix it.
Not many people know what ocean acidification is. The rate of carbon dioxide has increased in the Earth’s atmosphere. Not only by us breathing, but there are many other impacts, too. The only question is, why are oceans affected by carbon dioxide? …show more content…
For example, there is the NRDC, or the Natural Resources Defense Council. The NRDC wants us to help reduce ocean acidification (NRDC). The NRDC knows that we can do something about this great environmental problem, but mostly, they want to stop this. The NRDC pushed more funding for research and helping coastal communities. Including, marine industries. The NRDC needs greats amounts of money to help reduce ocean acidification. Congress helped the NRDC by giving them 6 to 10 million dollars. It’s an unbelievable price for just ocean acidification but, more money is still to be needed (NRDC). The NRDC is doing something about ocean acidification, we can, too.
We can do many things to prevent ocean acidification because we are the ones who caused this. Now, we just have to fix it. Ocean acidification is very uncommon. Barely anyone thinks about this environmental problem. We now know that carbon dioxide can do many dangerous effects to the oceans and that we caused this, and we still do. Also, there are many programs out in this world helping to reduce ocean acidification. Then, there’s us. The people who need to save the oceans from this horrible problem in the environment. All we need to do is lend a hand. Lending a hand can save a whole entire
