Any neighbor on the street could be dealing drugs or worse. South Florida residents know that crime is all around them because of the constant sirens of alarms going off at all hours which causes some residents to be sleepless when it gets quiet and they don’t have the official noise of south Florida filling their ears. Sometimes for the residents of south Florida it seems that crime is the only thing that brings them together. About the only time a never before seen neighbor of fourteen years stops by is to say that her house was broken into. Everybody has dogs in south Florida, so the neighbors don’t just walk up to their house and introduce themselves without being ripped to shreds by huge dogs. The cops don’t seem to be very observant of criminals either, when two tables over from a cop, a man can be heard saying that he is a narcotics trafficker and the cop does nothing. Where else can someone come in late to work and get away with the excuse that an alligator was blocking the road to work? South Florida has crime, violence, untamed nature, wild weather, bad drivers, rude people, horrible traffic, and giant insects. Everybody in south Florida is waiting on the big one (hurricane) to come through, they say it could come at any time. They have massive flooding and runaway pets gone wild. When a resident of south Florida asks a newcomer if they like south Florida, what they want to hear is that they do like it, which makes the resident feel a little less like a moron for living there.
