In other words, social interest is the awareness and capacity of an individual to form part of a larger community. Social interest can replace the feelings of isolation for a sense of alienation (Griffith & Powers, 2007). Building social interest in Low acculturated Latinos would help them learn to cooperate with the larger community. Creating and maintaining interpersonal relationships in the larger community is a main value in the Latino community (Hernandez, Garcia, & Flinn, 2010). The family constellation refers to the operation of the family system, from which each member has its place in relation to the place of the others (Griffith & Powers, 2007). Adlerian theory sees the family as an interactive system in which its members’ roles depend on the roles of other family members. Familismo is a core value in the Latino community (Baumann, Kuhlberg, & Zayas, 2010). Family is a central part of a Latino client’s lifestyle because of the cultural value. Familismo refers to loyalty, and placing the needs of family members before individual needs (Baumann et al. 2010).
