The laws of slavery did not benefit the people being enslaved. Laws only met the needs of the plantation owners. Only a few laws tried to help life of slaves such as banning the transport of people over the ship and auction of people. What it did not help with was the treatment of the people. They still got whipped and sexaully assaulted by the owners. The government has only encouraged this behavior to carry on. Providing more benefits for plantation owner, but not even attempting to toss a bone to people down below. Indeed some laws were good hearted acts, but the laws were unfit how a person should be treated. Our country yells that United States is the land of the free, but it should be felt by everyone. The people who yells freedom are usually the ones that do not experience that hardship of being controlled by someone else. This country freedom should be throughout the country as a
