The winter sports industry generates almost nine billion dollars in state and federal taxes, not to mention the many retired dads and college sophomores they employ. Over the last decade the ski industry has lost over a billion dollars in total revenue. That’s right! A billion! If I had a billion snowflakes for every dollar lost in aggregated earnings, I might be able to ski the bunny hill. However, turns out the earth is freaking out because of us humans! Thats right, even the gnarliest skiiers on this side of the mountain are responsible for the snow melting. May seem ironic, but there are so many factors leading up to skiing that actually release these climate changing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
