Gawain makes a deal with the Green Knight. The speaker says “Gawain must promise to give the lord whatever he has won that day” (Line 64). This quote explains that when the Green
Knight wins Gawain has to do or give whatever he wants. Gawain is worried when he figures the deal has to do with death situation. The speaker says “Gawain will surely die, but Gawain insists on going” (Line 169). What this quote is explaining is that, Gawain knows he is not going to survived the battle. Either way he still insists on going to keep his promise. Finally, Gawain learns that doing the right thing can always be worth at the end.
After everything Gawain has been threw he finally confessed to the Green Knight. The Green
Knight says “since now you’re confessed so cleans, acknowledging sins/ and bearing the plain penance of my point/ I consider you polished as white and as perfectly clean” (Lines 402-404).
This quote is explaining, since Gawain has confessed everything. The Green Knight wash all his sins away as if he was a new born person. Gawain confessing the true also
