Singapore consists of a group of islands located in Southeast Asia, between Malaysia and Indonesia. It consists of one main island and several other surrounding islands. Singapore has a total land area of 275.8 sq. mi, which makes the country more than 3.5 times the size of Washington D.C. and Hong Kong more than twice the size of Singapore.1 (Fact book). Geographically, there are three major areas in Singapore. The central mountainous region has (Bukit Timah, Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang and Bukit Mandai). The west and southwestern parts of the island, which have formed narrow crests (Mount Faber Ridge and Pasir Panjang Ridge). It has tropical weather; hot, humid, rainy. The Iceland does not have clear season such as winter or summer, the weather is humid, rainy and worm every day around the year. In 1819, the country, Singapore was established as a British colony.
Singapore was an important to British, because it was one of the many trading bases serving as a transshipment center and supply point for Japanese Malay, Chinese, Thai, Indian, and Arab traders. In 1963, Singapore became a part of Malaysia, but it separated and became independent in 1965. It left Malaysia to become an independent and self-governing democratic nation.
