Dual citizenship have been perks for people which allowed them to travel to and fro of their respective country as well as the country that they want to be a part of. Being a citizen concurrently in two countries can be very convenient and the benefited the countries to attract more people to be a part of their society. More than 30 countries around the world allow their citizens to have dual citizenship. However, Singapore’s laws prohibit its citizens from doing so. The cons overweighs the pros in allow dual citizenship. I agree that because Singapore is a small country with limited land and people, it cannot afford to lose its people and support during difficult times in unforeseen circumstances. Dual citizenship allow us to move between two countries whenever and if suddenly all the citizen left and decided to move to the other country, then who else can we count on to protect our country- what we call home. Let say if the government relax the policy and set a quota of people that could gain dual citizenship, the rest of the people living in Singapore would not be happy as these people would get the best of both world, and rip the benefit as a result of inequality. Therefore, I understand where the government is coming from and could not agree more on its restriction of the dual citizenship policy. However, I would suggest if one day the government is opening up the idea of dual citizenship, the government maybe could consider set a quota of people that could gain citizenship but restrict the benefits of people who have acquire dual citizenship successfully. To me, my American citizenship is very special, since I was not born in this country I had to work very hard to earn the right to be called an American citizen. Becoming a citizen has been one of the most important decisions I have made in my life. Being an American citizen comes with many privileges, for example, being able to vote on important issues. Along with the right to vote, being a citizen also comes with the responsibility of participating on a panel of juries, which is a major responsibility in my opinion. Finally, my cultural background has played a large role in shaping the meaning of my citizenship, coming from a country where its citizens have very little say in choosing their leaders I feel privileged to call myself an American.…

As Anthony Burgess eloquently put’s it, English is a curiously expressive language. Living in a multi-racial country like Singapore, where the majority of the people speak their own mother tongue, English is the common ground we have, that binds us when we come together to express an idea or play. I fell in love with this subject because it is everywhere. Look around you, and you’ll notice people full of fun words, phrases and idioms. Constructing a word or a sentence is basically rearranging the letters, it’s this fun game of jigsaw puzzle, that when combined correctly, creates magic.…

In America, Americans live in a country that allows us to have the freedom of choice, bringing all types of religions, languages, and ethnicities to the United States. If I were to describe our country, I would start off by outlining this country as a place where people abide by the laws and consider questions such as a person’s age, salary, weight, or religion offensive. If a foreigner were to approach an American, the American might take a step away because they like their personal space surrounding them. Also, as a citizen of the United States I have noticed that we are very informal humans who call each other by nicknames, or first name basis, but make sure as a foreigner to shake the American’s right hand, look them in the eyes, and smile,…

All Puerto Rican citizens have unrestricted migration to and from America, but anyone living in America that is from Puerto Rico are considered U.S. citizens and are not recognized as Puerto Ricans until resided on the island for a year (geography.about).
