Should offensive speech be banned? Where should we, as a society, draw the line between permitted speech and forbidden speech? Freedom of speech is the ability to express yourself by words or thoughts without any censorship or restrains. People are entitled to share their thoughts and opinions with others even though they might disagree with it or it might offend them. I believe that free speech should have limitations, In other words, I think free speech is important as it can open doors for us, for example, freedom of ideas wouldn 't exist without freedom of speech as well as the freedom to vote. People have fight and died for these freedoms. I’m not fully against freedom of speech, i’m against the fact that people take advantage of this free speech and use it as a protection to say whatever they want with holding no responsibility or consequence. Even though congress makes no law abridging the freedom of speech in terms of hate speech such as saying hateful, offending , and threatening things, it should be within humanity to realize that certain things shouldn 't be said people should limit their words. Racism, sexism, religious should be respected and I understand that there are people who both agree and disagree to it however, there are people who disagree with actions. Where they treat an individual completely different or physically harm them when they find out about their race or religion. I’m not asking society to understand or stand with these matters but to…
