Queen of Tejano Music On March 30th, 1995 was one of the saddest days for many Latinos all over the world, it was the day that forever changed many people’s lives, Selena Quintanilla had been killed by her fan club manager and he friend Yolanda. Selena was also known as being “La Reina De Tex Mex” or the queen of Tex Mex. She was adored and admired by many Latin Americans all over the world. Still to this day her memory lives and there have been many special events that have occurred to honor the star. Selena Quintanilla was born April 16th 1971 in Lake Jackson Texas. In October of 2016, MAC Cosmetics honored the star by coming out with a limited Selena Collection. Selena’s sister Suzette, was the one behind the idea of teaming up with MAC Cosmetics and coming out with the collection. Suzette said she was inspired to come up with the collection because she wanted to create a collection that would remind her of all the late-night conversations she would have with her sister. (people.com). Suzette also stated that she wanted to create the makeup collection to honor her sister because it was one of Selena’s dream to one day have her own makeup line. Because In the interview with People Magazine, Suzette and her family also introduced that because they want to keep her memory alive that they will have a tour called Selena One with holograms. (people.com). Besides the makeup line, in 2017, Selena will be added into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was on June 28th by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. (Selena Hollywood Walk of Fame). Although it is twenty-one years later, it is never too late to show honor and appreciation towards the Star. Finally, another major event that happened was the Selena was added into the Wax Museum.
